International Maritime Organization (IMO)

The International Maritime Organization, IMO, was established as a specialized agency of the United Nations in 1948. The IMO facilitates cooperation on technical matters affecting merchant shipping and traffic. It publishes “Guidelines for Packing and Securing Cargoes in Containers for Transport by Land or Sea” (Container Packing Guidelines).
