International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC)

An international treaty established under the auspices of the United Nations to secure action to prevent the spread and introduction of pests of plants and plant products, and to promote appropriate measures for their control. The IPPC publishes a series of International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPMs). One of the most well-known ISPMs is ISPM No. 15: Guidelines for regulating wood packaging material in international trade, 2002.
