International Telecommunications Satellite Organization (INTELSAT)

Created in 1964 under a multilateral agreement, INTELSAT was originally a nonprofit cooperation of countries from around the world that jointly owned and operated a global communications satellite system serving the world. Currently, INTELSAT is a private corporation with a global fleet of satellites, and offers wholesale Internet, broadcast, telephony and corporate network solutions to leading service providers in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.
