inventory velocity

(logistics) The rate at which inventory moves through a defined cycle. For example: the speed at which inventory is sold in a retail or distribution environment; the speed at which inventory moves through the entire supply chain; the speed at which inventory moves from a receiving dock to the shipping dock. The more traditional term for inventory velocity is “turns”. See inventory turns.
