Social Accountability International (SAI)

Social Accountability International (SAI) is a human rights organization founded in 1996 that seeks to improve workplaces and communities around the world by developing and implementing socially responsible workplace standards. To fulfill its mission, SAI promotes “ISO-like” standards systems for social accountability. Its SA8000 (Social Accountability 8000) is a workplace standard and verification system that features certification of compliance at the facility level and support for companies seeking to implement their standards.
