When the shopping cart changes, what happens to to the shipping rates and customs duty fees?

Shipping is calculated in the checkout process. So, a customer can make as many changes as they want to their shopping cart before beginning the checkout process. However, customers often make last-minute decisions and add items to or remove items from their carts after calculating tax, duties, and shipping.

When a shopper changes their cart after seeing the final shipping cost, FlavorCloud automatically recalculates the shipping rates and custom duty fees. We recalculate with the shipping selection the customer already selected. For example, if they selected “express,” we recalculate at the express level when there are changes to the cart.

After the instant recalculation, FlavorCloud updates the display the customer sees. They always have the current shipping cost, so there are no surprises when they check out. If a customer wants to change their shipping selection, they can go back to the shipping options and see all the newly calculated options for their current cart.
