A deep dive into tariffs
US IMPORT TARIFFS
The Trump administration has introduced sweeping tariff measures under expanded IEEPA authority, including the elimination of the $800 de minimis threshold effective August 29, significantly increasing landed costs for low-value cross-border shipments. Additionally, stricter enforcement targets transshipment and tariff evasion, with a 40% penalty on goods found to be rerouted or mislabeled to avoid country-specific duties.
