How do I Enable and Use Two-Factor Authentication in FlavorCloud?
What is two-factor authentication (2FA), and what are its benefits?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security measure that adds an extra layer of protection to your online accounts.
It requires users to provide two different forms of identification (factors) when logging in rather than just a password. The purpose of 2FA is to enhance account security and minimize the risk of unauthorized access, even if the password is compromised.
Typically, the two factors in 2FA consist of something you know (e.g., your password) and something you have (e.g., a one-time code sent via text message).
By requiring both factors, 2FA makes it much more difficult for hackers or malicious actors to gain access to your account, as they would need both your password and access to the second factor to log in successfully.
Which authentication methods can I use for 2FA with FlavorCloud?
FlavorCloud supports the use of codes via text to authenticate the account. Phone numbers must be added to each user on an account before 2FA can be enabled.
How do I enable 2FA on my account?
2-Factor Authentication for FlavorCloud is opt-in at the account level and can only be opted in by the Store Owner or Customer Admin.
Before 2FA can be enabled, every user on an account must have a phone number in our system. These phone numbers must be added by the user and be able to accept texts.
To activate 2FA:
• Navigate to ‘Users’ under the account menu
• Check the Box for ‘2 Step Authentication
• Click Save
What should I do if I lose my device?
If you lose access to your device, please contact email@example.com to open a ticket.
How do I disable 2FA if I no longer want to use it?
The Store Owner or a Customer Admin for the account can turn off 2FA anytime.
To deactivate 2FA:
• Navigate to ‘Users’ under the account menu.
• Uncheck the Box for 2-Step Authentication
• Click Save
Can I use 2FA with multiple devices?
FlavorCloud only supports 2FA via text with one phone number per user.
