The US is cracking down on de minimis exemptions
The US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is increasing enforcement of de minimis exemptions, exemptions that allowed shipments under a threshold to be admitted to the US at a low cost. This has directly affected customs clearance for 3PLs like Seko Logistics and major retailers like Shein.

South Africa committed to taxing clothes imports
South Africa Revenue Service (SARS) is also focusing on closing de minimus exemptions, focused on clothing imports. They have committed to taking a 45% import duty plus VAT starting next month.
Delivery Changes in Paris due to Olympics
During the upcoming 2024 Olympics, held in Paris from Friday, July 26th to Sunday, August 11th there will be limitations on deliveries based on accessible zones. Our carriers have negotiated access to the Blue and Red zones but any deliveries in the Grey or Black zones will be delayed until after the events.
