Stay complaint with EU forced labor laws
On January 22, 2024, crucial negotiations were held between the EU Council and Parliament to finalize the text of new regulations which will ban sale of products where any portion thereof was made using forced labor. This will apply to products being imported into the EU, sold within the EU, and exported out of the EU.
What this means for you: Beginning this summer prepare for heightened customs scrutiny and potential delays in EU-bound shipments as well as an export originating in the EU. It’s imperative to meticulously assess your supply chain to ensure compliance, avoiding involvement with forced, prison, child, or other prohibited labor, and proactively produce evidentiary documentation proving that no forced labor is used in your supply chain.
As your trusted ally, FlavorCloud is committed to providing support and keeping you updated. However, as the merchant responsible for product sourcing, the onus of action falls on you. Stay proactive and stay compliant.

Cross border Shipping Fact of the Month: US Customers are almost as old as the country itself. On July 31, 1789 the United States government first created the US Custom Service to impose a “Collection of Duties” on ships, merchandise, and wares entering the country.
